3609 Anemone L.
Notes: Uotila (2001e) argued for acceptance of Anemonidium: "Anemonidium canadense was formerly included in Anemone but deviates by its chromosome base-number (x = 7 but see [A. dichotoma]) and, e.g., by its broadly winged, beaked achenes". Anemonidium has support in the molecular studies. Starodubtsev (1991) assigned Anemone (Jurtsevia) richardsonii to Anemonidium. This assignment is supported by both the cited molecular studies. The genus Jurtsevia (Löve and Löve 1976) is superfluous even in a solution with several genera accepted.
