Geography: Amphi-Atlantic - European (N) - Asian (NW): ICE NOR RUS SIB CAN GRL.

Notes: Section Macrodonta is a fairly distinct group centered in Iceland but also present in Jan Mayen and Greenland. It contains one species aggregate. Brouillet (2006a) merged the two Greenland microspecies with Taraxacum lapponicum (= T. croceum, sect. Taraxacum).
