Notes: The Cordilleran Salix farriae C.R. Ball, Contr. U.S. Natl. Herb. 22: 321 (1921) was described from the Rocky Mountains in southern Alberta, southern British Columbia, and northern Montana. It has sometimes been considered conspecific with S. hastata but is supported as a species (Dorr 1975a; Argus 2007). It reaches only north to the (non-arctic) southeastern Yukon Territory.
