500717-20 The Saxifraga spinulosa aggregate S. cherlerioides, S. codyana, S. funstonii, S. spinulosa

Geography: Asian (N/C) - amphi-Beringian.

Notes: Zhmylev: The Saxifraga spinulosa aggregate corresponds to Khokhrjakov's (1979) subsect. Criomorphicae. It is distinguished from the S. bronchialis aggregate by entire, lanceolate leaves, elongated coneshaped capsule, and yellowish colour of petals. It is a Siberian and amphi-Beringian group of 6-7 species often treated as geographical races of S. bronchialis.

Elven: Brouillet and Elvander (2009b) accepted Saxifraga bronchialis for North America with two subspecies (subsp. funstonii and subsp. austromontana (Wiegand) Piper) and in addition three species: S. cherlerioides and the non-arctic S. taylorii Calder & Savile and S. vespertina (Small) Fedde. These belong to the S. spinulosa aggregate and not to the S. bronchialis aggregate in Zhmylev's concept.
