Not included: Zhukova et al. (1973) reported 2n = 90 under this name from Tiksi in northernmost Yakutia, Siberia. Rebristaya (1984) mapped the species as rare along the lower Lena River and not to reach as far north as the Tiksi area. The main plant in the Tiksi area is S. spinulosa with reported numbers from ca. 44 to ca. 80. However, Malyschev (1994a) mapped also S. bronchialis from the Tiksi area.
Geography: Asian (N): SIB.
Notes: Zhmylev: Saxifraga bronchialis is a Siberian montane-boreal species characterized by needleshaped leaves with long firm cilia along the margin.
Elven and Solstad: Zhmylev did not comment on subsp. compacta, accepted by Malyschev (1994a) and reaching the Arctic along the lower Lena River. We have included it only in the synonymy.
