Geography: Asian (NE) - amphi-Beringian - Cordilleran: SIB RFE ALA CAN.

Notes: Rebristaya: I prefer to accept Ranunculus grayi at level of species due to distinct morphological differences and the long distance between the ranges of R. grayi (Beringian Arctic and Cordilleran) and R. gelidus Kar. & Kit. (central Asian, described from the Alatau).

Murray & Elven: Some American authors have applied the name R. karelinii Czerep. (Czerepanov 1981: 425) to North American plants. This name is a superfluous, illegitime synonym of R. gelidus Kar. & Kir. (1842), see the International Plant Name Index (http://ipni.org/ipni).
