3445 Glyceria R. Br.
- R. Br., Prodr.: 179 (1810) nom. cons..
- Excluded: Glyceria triflora.
Notes: An additional species, Glyceria pulchella (Nash) K. Schum., approaches the Arctic in Alaska (see Barkworth and Anderton 2007: 77, but their map is too muddy to see much detail). Hultén (1968a) and Cody (1996) mapped it north to, respectivelly, central Alaska and the Dawson area in the Yukon Territory, i.e., as boreal only.
The occurrence of two different base chromosome numbers is well documented in several species of Glyceria (and also in Pleuropogon). There is a question whether the first base number is x = 10 (as assumed below) or x = 5 (possibly aneuploid).
