2n=
40 (4x). - Alaska-Yukon. - Löve (1954a, an untrustworthy account). See notes below.
Geography: American Beringian: (ALA CAN).
Notes: Glyceria grandis reaches the Borderline Arctic in the Yukon River Delta (Hultén 1968a) and on Hudson Bay (Porsild and Cody 1980).
Murray and Elven: The plants of G. grandis that reach or approach the Arctic belong to an entity described as variety or species (the latter by Löve due to its reported ploidy difference). This matter should be checked further. The variety was accepted by Barkworth and Anderton (2007) but without reference to the difference in ploidy level (they reported G. grandis with 2n = 20 only). The reason may be that the report of 2n = 40 was made in an untrustworthy paper (Löve 1954a) without any documentation for the origin of the relevant count.
