Notes: This distinctly arctic diploid group consists of two well recognized and morphologically widely different species - the North American and amphi-Atlantic Puccinellia vahliana and the amphi-Beringian P. wrightii - three less well investigated and characterized Russian taxa - P. beringensis, P. byrrangensis, P. jenisseiensis - and some scattered records of deviating plants assigned to either P. vahliana or P. wrightii from outside the ranges where they otherwise are confirmed. Two of the three Russian taxa have not been evaluated yet outside Russia.
