Notes: Porsild (1932) suggested Carex lyngbyei to be a Medieval adventive in Greenland, then probably introduced from Iceland. This hypothesis has neither been supported nor refuted but is improbable. Restriction to the climatically favourable parts of Greenland occupied by the Norse immigrants may just as well be due to thermic demands as to introduction. Cayouette (1987) did not accept presence in eastern Canada.
