Notes: Cnidium ajanense may be present in Alaska but not in the arctic parts. The single Alaskan record of Hultén (1968a), from the southern Brooks Range (Old Man Creek, leg. W.C. Mendenhall, US, photo in S), is based on an incomplete and probably unidentifiable specimen and is, besides, probably non-arctic. There is, however, another and much more probable (albeit sterile) Alaskan specimen from the non-arctic Shumagin Island (Mis Harbour, 22. May 1935, leg. D. Martel 87, Herb. S).
Pimenov (1996) and Tikhomirov (PAF proposal) accepted this species as Tilingia ajanensis. Waiting for a critical survey of the Cnidium-Conioselinum group we enter it as a Cnidium.
