863001 Jacobaea ambracea (Turcz. ex DC.) B. Nord.
- B. Nord., Compositae Newslett. 44: 13 (2006). - Senecio ambraceus Turcz. ex DC., Prodr. 6: 348 (1838). Described from between Okhotsk and Yakutsk (Siberia).
- Senecio jacobaea auct., non L., Sp. Pl.: 870 (1753).
Geography: Asian (NE): (SIB).
Notes: Elven and Solstad: Wiebe (1997) reported Senecio jacobaea from arctic Yakutia. In 2004 we found a plant of this group to be abundant north to Chekurovka in the Borderline Arctic at the lower Lena River, north of the boundary as drawn but slightly south of the actual treeline. This eastern Siberian plant differs morphologically from European (description) and western Siberian Jacobaea vulgaris s. str. and some taxonomy is probably involved. It is therefore entered under the name applied by, e.g., Barkalov (1992): Senecio ambraceus = [Jacobaea ambracea]. Hultén and Fries (1986) excluded it from Senecio jacobaea = [Jacobaea vulgaris].
