Notes: Korobkov and Elven: We are in doubt whether to accept two taxa or only one within Ligularia sibirica s. lat. The two species or subspecies "sibirica" s. str. and "arctica" might represent a south-north clinal variation. Ligularia arctica reaches the Arctic in the Murman area and Kanin-Pechora, perhaps also in the Ob River area (Sev. Sosva River, Wiebe 1997). The differential characters reported for L. arctica vs. L. sibirica are smaller size, fewer capitulae, but broader enlargened part of disc flowers. Also L. sibirica s. str. may occur in one arctic locality in Kanin-Pechora (Tokarevskikh 1977).
