Geography: North American: ALA** CAN.

Notes: Elven and Murray: Hultén (1968a) mapped Artemisia canadensis from the Yukon River Delta but it is probably not established there. Porsild & Cody (1980) mapped several localities along the southeastern shore of Hudson Bay.

Shultz (2006) accepted Scoggan's and Cody's (1996) merger of A. canadensis with the Eurasian A. campestris as one of three North American races (subspecies). With some field knowledge of both plants, we are reluctant to accept that merger. Comparing material in 2009, we found A. canadensis to differ in several features both from European A. campestris and from A. borealis in all its aspects.
