862209 Artemisia flava Jurtz.

Distribution

West Chukotka: Rare
Shrub Tundra: Rare
Bordering boreal or alpine areas: Rare

2n= 18 (2x). - Far East (West Chukotka). - At least three reports.
Not included: The single report that Löve and Löve (1975a) accepted as arctic for Artemisia flava was from northwestern Alaska (Johnson and Packer 1968). This needs some explanation as A. flava, as far as known (also as accepted by the Löves), is an Asian species restricted to the Anyui Mountains (Korobkov 1987a, comment). The count is included above under A. globularia, which was the species it was assigned to by the original authors, Johnson and Packer.

Geography: Asian Beringian: RFE.

Notes: Artemisia flava seems morphologically close (at least superficially) to A. globularia, based on inspection of the few specimens in S.
