Notes: Hultén (1968a) and Cody (1996) recognized a widely distributed Cordilleran Erigeron peregrinus with two races: the northern subsp. peregrinus and the more southern subsp. callianthemus (Greene) Cronquist (E. callianthemus Greene), both reported to reach non-arctic parts of Alaska and the Yukon Territory and subsp. peregrinus to reach the Borderline Arctic in the Goodnews Bay area in southwestern Alaska. Nesom (2006b) distinguished between two species: a northern Cordilleran E. peregrinus (with two varieties) and a more widely Cordilleran E. glacialis (Nutt.) A. Nelson (with two varieties). He synonymized E. callianthemus with E. glacialis var. glacialis.
