Geography: Amphi-Beringian (E) - North American (N) - Cordilleran: RFE ALA CAN GRL.

Notes: Erigeron compositus is an aggregate of several morphologically perhaps separable sexual diploids with 2n = 18 (Beaman 1977) and a complicated superstructure of agamospermous polyploids with 2n = 36-80 (Noyes et al. 1995; Noyes and Soltis 1996). The sexuals are Cordilleran. Beaman proposed five of these as informal subspecies. All the plants that reach the Arctic in northeastern Asia, North America, and Greenland seem to be polyploids and probably agamospermous.
