- Solidago oreophila Rydb., Cat. Fl. Montana: 387 (1900). Type: U.S.A.: Montana: Gap in the Belt Mountains above White's Gulch, 1882, leg. Canby. - Solidago decumbens var. oreophila (Rydb.) Fernald, Rhodora 38: 202 (1936).

Geography: North American (W): ALA CAN.
Notes: Hultén (1968a) treated Solidago simplex as a variety of S. decumbens, Cody (1996) and Semple and Cook (2006) as species. We follow the latter course.
