Notes: Ivanina and Elven: Löve and Löve (1976a) described the genus Pediculariopsis (with P. verticillata) mainly because of its different base chromosome number (x = 6, vs. x = 8 in Pedicularis). In this, they have been followed by no others, especially because morphologically quite similar plants - P. verticillata (x = 6) and P. amoena (x = 8) - thereby were assigned by them to different genera.
