Geography: European (N): NOR RUS?

Notes: Gusarova and Elven: Yeo (1972) stated Euphrasia saamica to differ from its sympatric relatives (E. hyperborea, E. wettsteinii) in its very long internodes, up to 9 times as long as the leaves (in the inflorescence up to 5 times), and the lower bracts with all teeth apically directed (lower teeth more or less spreading in the others). Yeo (1972) reported it from "Arctic Fennoscandia. ?Fe No Rs (N) Su" and considered it restricted to Fennoscandia (including its type area in northwestern European Russia). Plants conforming to this description have been found in the Arctic in Norway close to the Russian border and probably occur also in the Arctic in the Murman area. However, the Russian Murman area plants were mapped as non-arctic by Kuzeneva (1966, mainly from the interior Khibiny Mountains). Gusarova (2005) accepted E. saamica. Internal note: Check description etc. of E. saamica as compared with E. wettsteinii paludosa.
