Notes: Tzvelev (1980a) included Callitriche anceps in C. palustris. Callitriche anceps and C. palustris co-occur in Alaska, Canada, and Greenland and are there kept apart by fruit characters deemed to be of taxonomic value, e.g., fruit nearly orbicular and without distal wings in C. anceps vs. obovate and with distinct distal wings in C. palustris, and fruit valves with linear structures vs. without (Lansdown in preparation for Flora of North America). We accept both species as does Lansdown.
