Geography: Amphi-Beringian: RFE ALA.

Notes: Alsos and Elven: If subsp. pedris and subsp. occidentale are merged, the latter name has priority. The former name is retained because it surely refers to the Alaskan and Chukotkan plant in question and because Young (1970a) found subsp. pedris and subsp. occidentale different morphologically. Young reported subsp. pedris from Alaska, East Chukotka, Kamtchatka, the Okhotsk region, Sakhalin, Japan, and Korea, i.e., as mainly northeastern Asian. However, Pacific Asian plants south of Chukotka rather connect to subsp. occidentale in molecular markers.
