Notes: Cakile edentula subsp. edentula was found in Ivigtut in southwestern Greenland in 1952. It was suggested to possibly have been introduced with the 'Norsemen' from Iceland or Norway in Medieval times (as the Löves proposed the Icelandic plants as C. edentula). However, it was reported to be casual. As the Greenland plants later have been assigned to the North American C. edentula, a Norse Medieval introduction to Greenland from 'Vinland', and subsequent survival of this annual until 1952 as a casual, would be biologically impressive if one believed in it.
