2n= (1) 16 (2x). - Far East (N), Canada (W). - Five reports, numerous counts. Diploid in FCM, Grundt et al. (2005b; Alberta).
(2) 32 (4x). - Far East (West Chukotka). - Zhukova and Petrovsky (1977).
Petrovsky: The tetraploid chromosome counts are from the vicinity of Bilibino settlement in the Anjui Range where anomalous caryological races are found in several species of different families (in Chrysosplenium, Saxifraga, Potentilla, and Taraxacum).
Elven: Löve and Löve (1975a) referred all American chromosome number reports (and distribution) to D. lonchocarpa "subsp. kamtschatica". That taxon is absent from the areas from where the counts are reported, whereas D. lonchocarpa var. lonchocarpa is present.

Geography: Asian (NE) - amphi-Beringian - Cordilleran: SIB RFE ALA.

Notes: Petrovsky, Grundt, and Elven: Mulligan (1974b) accepted three races of Draba lonchocarpa: var. lonchocarpa, var. vestita O.E. Schulz (erroneously considered as "kamtschatica" in North American literature), and var. thompsonii (C.L. Hitchc.) Rollins. Al-Shehbaz et al. (2010a) discussed these races but did not find reason to accept them.

Elven: Mulligan (1974b) did not accept this species from the Arctic in northwestern North America. Many early specimens annotated as D. lonchocarpa from the Arctic in Alaska are misidentified (ALA) but there are now several records from the Arctic in both southwestern Alaska and the Brooks Range (specimens re-identified from D. nivalis). On the Asian side, D. lonchocarpa (var. lonchocarpa) reaches west to the east bank of the Lena River and Tiksi Bay (i.e., Kharaulakh).
