2n= (1) 28 (4x, x = 7). - Far East (N). - Zhukova (1980).
(2) 42 (6x, x = 7). - Far East (N). - Zhukova (1980).
(3) 64 (8x?, x = 8?). - Canada (NW). - Mulligan (1965a).
Not included: A report of 2n = 42 (6x) and 52 (ca. 8x) from East Chukotka (Zhukova and Tikhonova 1973). We have not been able to confirm this species from that region. A report of 2n = ca. 100 (ca. 12-14x) from Putorana (Krogulevich 1976a). As high-ploid numbers as this are not otherwise known from the group and the species is barely or not known from Putorana (where the only high-ploid Cardamine is C. polemonioides).

Geography: Asian (N) & American Beringian: SIB RFE ALA CAN.

Notes: Petrovsky: Chukotkan plants of Cardamine microphylla with different ploidy levels show no morphological differences. Löve and Löve (1975a) erroneously attributed only our data on hexaploid plants to C. microphylla.

Carlsen, M.H. Jørgensen, and Elven: The northwestern North American plants that correspond to Asian C. microphylla in microsatellites (Jørgensen et al. 2008) are largely similar to these also in morphology. We assign them to the same species but further studies are warranted as they are quite disjunct with a gap of ca. 2000 km and as they may be at a higher ploidy level.
