Described from arctic Siberia and from Novaya Zemlya (European Russia). Type in LE. - Arabis petraea subsp. septentrionalis (N. Busch) Tolm., Trudy Bot. Muz. 23: 204 (1931). - Cardaminopsis septentrionalis (N. Busch) O.E. Schulz in Engl. & Prantl, Nat. Pflanzenfam., ed. 2, 17b: 541 (1936).

(2) 32 (4x). - Siberia (Taimyr, Kolyma). - Zhukova et al. (1973); Krogulevich (1976a, Putorana, for Arabis umbrosa but probably "septentrionalis").
The only chromosome number certainly recorded within the range of this subspecies is 2n = 32 from Taimyr and Putorana.
Geography: European (NE) - Asian (N): RUS SIB.
Notes: Occurrence of subsp. septentrionalis east of the Lena River (i.e., in the Kolyma region, West Chukotka, and Wrangel Island) needs confirmation. A confusion with subsp. umbrosa is probable.
