Geography: Circumboreal: ICE NOR RUS CAN GRL.

Notes: Kurtto et al. (2004): "Tetraploid (possibly allopolyploid) to hexaploid (hexaploids possibly autoallopolyploids arising from the fusion of reduced and non-reduced tetraploid gametes)."

In southwestern Greenland, subsp. anserina is either native, a Medieval Norse adventive, or due to a more recent introduction (Pedersen 1972).
