Geography: Asian (NE) - amphi-Beringian: RFE ALA CAN.
Notes: Soják (1989: 752) assigned subsp. hemicryophila as subspecies to P. matsuokana Makino, Bot. Mag. (Tokyo) 16: 161 (1902). Soják (2007: 293) accepted P. crebridens and P. matsuokana as apart.
