Geography: European (C) - Asian (C-NE): SIB RFE.
Notes: Kurbatskij (1988) mapped Potentilla nudicaulis as a major species of southern Siberia and with an extension into northeastern Asian mountains north to the Kolyma River. Soják (1996, 2004) hypothesized that it could be a hybrid species from P. pensylvanica and P. sanguisorba Willd. Both the proposed parents are absent from its range in the Russian Far East and all three species are mainly tetraploid. The hybrid origin hypothesis needs additional support.
