640802 Dryas ajanensis Juz.
- Juz., Izv. Glavn. Bot. Sada SSSR 28: 318 (1929). Type (LE): Russian Far East: "Ajan", leg. Tiling. - Dryas octopetala subsp. ajanensis (Juz.) Hultén, Acta Univ. Lund., n. s., sect. 2, 42, 1: 1050 (1946).
Geography: Asian (NE) - amphi-Beringian.
Notes: Elven and Murray: Dryas ajanensis is the northeastern Asian and Beringian parallel to the mainly European and northern Siberian D. octopetala in both Yurtsev's and our concept. The variation in the D. ajanensis group, as described by Yurtsev (1984c, 1997) and previously by Juzepczuk (1929) and Hultén (1959b), is large, geographically structured, and probably best represented as several races as proposed by Yurtsev. We accept the northern subspecies proposed by Yurtsev.
