Geography: Amphi-Beringian: RFE ALA.
Notes: Yurtsev: The Wrangel Island population differs from those of mainland Chukotka and Alaska by growth form. In mainland populations, the cushion is divided into 'columns' (abbreviated shoots with sheaths of fully persisting leaves). The Pallas' type of ["pygmaea", but see above] belongs here. Both diploid and tetraploid plants were found in the vicinity of Lavrentiya, East Chukotka, identical in other characters (autopolyploidy?).
