2n= 40 (4x). - Far East (N). - At least four reports, several counts.
Not included: Zhukova et al. (1973) reported under this name (as Saxifraga punctata) also 2n = 84 from Yakutia and 2n = ca. 80 from Kolyma, and Zhukova et al. (1977) 2n = >70 from northeastern Yakutia. Zhukova and Petrovsky (1987a) did not include these numbers. They are probably referable to Micranthes nelsoniana which at that time often went by the name Saxifraga punctata.

Geography: Asian (NE): RFE.

Notes: Zhmylev: The name Micranthes punctata (as Saxifraga) has previously been applied very frequently for another species or group of species (subsect. Rotundifoliae in sect. Chionophila), e.g., by Hultén (1968a) and Porsild and Cody (1980). This is a misapplication according to Webb and Gornall (1989).
