2n= 32. - Siberia (N), Far East (N). - Several reports.
Not included (Yurtsev): A report of 2n = 30 from Kamtchatka (Sokolovskaya 1963) needs confirmation.

Geography: Asian (NE): SIB RFE.

Notes: Murray and Elven: Volkova (1966) reported Claytonia acutifolia from the Alaskan St. Matthew and St. Lawrence islands but Yurtsev (PAF proposal) did not accept it from there. We have found no material (ALA) supporting Alaskan occurrence.

Miller and Chambers (2006) assumed the type material to be from St. Lawrence Island and St. Lawrence Bay (the latter erroneously assumed to be in Alaska). They must have mixed the type information for C. acutifolia and C. eschscholtzii in their publication as they stated the latter, strictly American Beringian and East Chukotkan species to have been described from the rather distant Okhotsk area.
