Notes: Salicornia dolichostachya subsp. pojarkovae reaches the Borderline Arctic. Rebristaya (1966) did not include it from the Arctic but Jalas and Suominen (1980) mapped it at the arctic boundary on the Kanin Peninsula and Sekretareva (2004) accepted it from the clearly arctic Kolguev Island (a misprint?). It approaches the Arctic in Norway (Porsanger). This species and subspecies is tetraploid as opposed to the diploid S. europaea L. s. str.
