- Aellen, Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 26: 47 (1929). Type (US): Alaska: "hot springs on the Tanana River" probably Manley or Chena Hot Springs, 1909, leg. A.S. Hitchcock.
Geography: Amphi-Beringian: RFE ALA.
Notes: Variety pulchrum is a dwarf ecotype from geothermal sites in East Chukotka and Alaska. The Seward Peninsula dot by Clemants and Mosyakin (2003) probably belongs to this race. Hultén (1928) mentioned it as f. pusilla. The variety may belong to C. salinum.
