Geography: European (NE) - Asian (N/C) - amphi-Beringian: RUS SIB RFE ALA CAN.
Notes: Murray and Elven: Hultén (1968b) and Morton (2005c) argued convincingly for not to recognize subsp. purpurata. There seems to be two ploidy levels in this species but only the 2n = 24 plants are documented from the Arctic.
