Notes: Böcher et al. (1978) reported one occurrence of Spergularia canadensis in Søndre Strømfjord in western Greenland. Scoggan (1978c) reported localities in Canada only north to James Bay, i.e., south of the Arctic. Hartman and Rabeler (2005) included (arctic) Nunavut but omitted (forgot?) Greenland. They accepted two major races: the eastern var. canadensis, which reaches the Arctic, and the western var. occidentalis R. Rossbach, Rhodora 42: 116 (1940), which reaches north to south-central Alaska but not the Arctic. Also this latter race is tetraploid: Taylor and Mulligan (1968); Pojar (1973).
