Notes: Northern Siberian plants fitting the description of Caltha caespitosa differ in general appearance from northwestern European C. palustris and its subsp. radicans as typified and also from northern Canadian C. arctica as typified. The taxon is little known and needs some additional justification but may merit subspecific rank within C. palustris. Entered provisionally.
