42 44 (4x). - Europe (N), Russia (N), Siberia (N), Far East (N), Alaska, Canada, Greenland. - Numerous reports and very numerous counts of both numbers, mainly for "psilosantha", sometimes for "fisheri". Tetraploid in FCM (Brysting et al. 2004, numerous localities).
Geography: Circumpolar: NOR RUS SIB RFE ALA CAN GRL.
Notes: In northwestern Europe, Dupontia fisheri morph "psilosantha" is found in Spitsbergen and Bear Island.
