Notes: Elven: According to Tzvelev (1964b), subsp. lapponica differs from Poa nemoralis s. str. in smooth spikelet rachis. Tzvelev's hybrid hypotheses for it - as P. nemoralis x palustris or P. glauca x nemoralis - are probable since similar hybrids with similar characters are frequent throughout Fennoscandia, but without assigned rank or names.
Tzvelev: Subspecies lapponica is well distinguished from typical P. nemoralis in habitus and ecology.
Elven: Subspecies lapponica is entered provisionally.
