Geography: Asian (N) - amphi-Beringian: SIB RFE ALA.

Notes: Tzvelev (1976: 458-459): "It is very close to the previous species i.e., [Poa pratensis s. lat.], possibly a result of hybridization of P. pratensis s.l. with P. lanata, P. malacantha or P. arctica ...". See also the discussion by Tzvelev (1964b). Tzvelev (in comment): "Good species which can be treated as subspecies of P. pratensis if someone wants it very much".

Elven and Murray: Soreng et al. (2003) and Soreng (2007) accepted Poa sublanata from coastal northern Alaska.
