Notes: Hultén (1942) synonymized "paramushirensis", "flexuosa", and "latifolia" and considered the resulting taxon more closely related to the South American Vahlodea magellanica (Hook.f.) Tzvelev than to the amphi-Atlantic V. atropurpurea.
