Notes: Elven: There are doubts whether the temperate to boreal eastern Siberian plants belong to this race or to subsp. capillaris. Varietas elongata is present in the Russian Far East but does not reach the Arctic there (Kozhevnikov 1988, as subsp. chlorostachys). The race is widespread in boreal and southern arctic North America and the southern parts of Greenland.
