Notes: The reasons for accepting Eriophorum x sorensenii as a species is from experience with it in Svalbard and Canada where it often occurs in the absence of at least one or sometimes both of its putative parents. Moreover, it is morphologically uniform and produces viable pollen. It may reproduce sexually as well as efficiently vegetatively. Several population groups are known from Svalbard, northern Greenland, and northern Canada, and from one site on the Alaskan north coast (Peard Bay, ALA).
