Geography: American Beringian - Cordilleran: ALA? CAN?
Notes: Subspecies ater may reach the Borderline Arctic in northern Alaska according to Snogerup et al. (2002). The range given by Kirschner et al. (2002c) may be too extensive. They mapped this race to be present on the arctic coast both in western and northwestern Alaska and in northwestern Canada. The material behind these reports should be confirmed before this race is accepted to reach the Arctic.
