Geography: European - Asian & North American: SIB (CAN).
Notes: Potamogeton pusillus has a temperate range in Europe and barely reaches the boreal parts. Kashina (1988) reported it from the Kolyma River estuary in northeastern Siberia. As for North America, we have confirmed material from two localities in the Borderline Arctic in the Mackenzie River Delta (CAN: Aklavik and "East Branch"). Haynes and Hellquist (2000c) mapped it from the Mackenzie River area. Scoggan's (1978b) report from York Factory on Hudson Bay is rejected as it is based on material (CAN) identified as P. pusillus var. pusillus by Haynes (not mapped from there by Haynes and Hellquist) but re-identified by us as P. berchtoldii.
