Geography: North American (NE): CAN.

Notes: Hultén (1968a) assigned the northeastern North American plant that reaches the Arctic to Tofieldia glutinosa subsp. glutinosa, the northwestern plant that does not reach the Arctic to subsp. brevistyla Hitchc. Taylor and Mulligan (1968) accepted both subspecies from British Columbia but Packer (2002) did not accept records of T. glutinosa s. str. from western Canada. Also the western plant, treated by Packer as a species - Triantha occidentalis (S. Watson) R.R. Gates [Tofieldia occidentalis S. Watson] - is diploid with 2n = 30.

Hydrocharitaceae. Excluded: Elodea (E. canadensis).
