060102-04 The Cryptogramma crispa aggregate C. acrostichoides, C. crispa, C. sitchensis

Geography: European & amphi-Pacific - North American (W).

Notes: Hultén (1968a) treated the northern plants as three subspecies of Cryptogramma crispa, Alverson (1993) and Tzvelev (PAF proposal) as three species. The three taxa differ morphologically. Cryptogramma acrostichoides is diploid, whereas C. crispa and C. sitchensis are allotetraploids, probably from different parental combinations. Rank as three species is appropriate.
