Veronica L. | |
Publ. & Syn. | Casual: Veronica arvensis, V. gentianoides, V. peregrina subsp. xalapensis, V. persica. |
Notes | The Pseudolysimachion group (species 01-03) is sometimes accepted as genus due to some morphological features and a different base chromosome number. If these species are segregated, other species groups also need to be considered, e.g., Veronicastrum. We prefer to circumscribe Veronica broadly as suggested by Albach et al. (2004). In addition, these authors included Synthyris in Veronica, mainly due to molecular evidence. We follow that solution. |
