Geography: Asian (N) - amphi-Beringian (W) & North American (Greenlandic, E): RUS SIB RFE ALA GRL.

Notes: The presence of tetraploids and decaploids in this morphologically uniform and easily recognized species is strange. The decaploids seem to be restricted to the Anyui Mountains, and someone should take a close look at the voucher specimens and compare them thoroughly with the tetraploids.

Yurtsev: Potentilla stipularis var. groenlandica is a special form that occurs in isolated localities on Wrangel Island and in northeastern Greenland. It may well be a climatype.

Elven and Murray: The occurrence of the same variety in eastern Greenland and Wrangel Island, and only there, throws some serious doubt on this variety as a taxon. We agree with Yurtsev that it is special but mainly in its range.
